The cars they drove in, the posters people saw, and the outfits the sports team wore were an art to the start of the school’s Hoco night. The poster was as big as five people standing alongside each other; how long could they have possibly taken?
It is common to make the Hoco game a big moment, especially for seniors to experience their last Hoco experience. Each sport decorated their poster and coordinated whether to match jerseys of match with the Hoco theme. Even so, the school had cars driving around the track field. How many times have you seen cars circling a football field?!
To be more specific on how much effort, work and time they put in these signs. Those that volunteered their cars were mainly staff or parents. These posters had the car invisible; all you saw was a poster with big letters drawn on them. For example, each car represented each sport: basketball, girls soccer, boys soccer, football, and baseball. Some cars had representation of school leadership programs; there was Link crew and ASB.
The work of Link crew
A link crew student, Christina Marin, stated “It took about a week to make it.” They used colors like pink white, red, and gold and emphasized the theme by starting with the drawing of a huge mad haters hat and then added other things like the clock and White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland.
While for some it was quick and for others it took a little longer, their efforts still go unnoticed.
The work from the boys basketball team
Anthony Garcia, a student and part of the basketball team, stated, “I designed it. It took us around two hours to complete it together; Johan worked on it too.”
Overall
Events like these help the school bond with one another; even so, they learn what to do and what not to do for the following event. Furthermore, events like Banda night are yet to come. Giving the opportunity for the whole school to bond, spend some time together and dance.
More specific events for seniors such as prom are also yet to come. More so, with the feedback given by the school from this Hoco night, prom night for seniors has the possibility of being different, fun, exciting, and a memory many won’t forget; exactly how the efforts of the many sports teams played out for the “Enchanted Wonderland” theme.
