UCLA Bruins students will be going to Kennedy every Wednesday, And as part of this program, the Bruins students will be going over regarding issues ranging from colleges to testing, such as the SAT or ACT.
The Bruins partner program is located in C107. They are meeting every Wednesday until November 20.
Going back to the program, Bruins Partners is an afterschool program where students will attain more knowledge on what to do during, before, and after college.
Four UCLA students are visiting Kennedy and enlightening students in this program. They would have presentations and test practices that can help students in the future.
According to Tae Yi , John F Kennedy’s Bruins Partner program adviser, they would talk about “various college-related topics, such as how to write effective college essays, recommended classes and activities, different types of living arrangements (dorm, university-own apartments, private apartments), roommate issues, and how to balance classes, work, and social life.”
Bruins partner program students go over different topics every week. And on every topic they will be able to answer questions and will also be able to give feedback to students.
Apart from that, they also offer SAT or ACT problems. They give students papers, and they would go over the answers which is very helpful to many students.
As stated by Angelouise Besas, a student from Kennedy, “Bruins partner program has helped me a lot in ways where i got to learn new information I haven’t learned before.”
The Bruin Partners Program started in 1990. It is not just for Kennedy but three other schools as well. The Bruins Partners program started in Kennedy about six years ago.
During COVID, they would host Zoom meetings in order to continue this program in Kennedy and educate students on many tips they could use in college and their college transcript or college essay drafts.
Although they have already started about two weeks ago. Students are very much still welcome to go and invite friends over.
